WELCOME TO SURREY FEST DOWNTOWN A CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY

Join us for the 25th Annual Surrey Fest Downtown – Saturday, June 21st, 2025 from 11AM to 4PM at Central City Shopping Centre Plaza (13250 102 Avenue)

As our community grows and changes, so has the name of the festival. The organizing committee felt that the new name, Surrey Fest Downtown – A celebration of community better reflects the location of the event while at the same time, encourages other communities to participate.

Surrey Fest Downtown (originally known as the Whalley Community Festival) was formed in 1999 to promote and celebrate community pride through a day of fun and entertainment for all ages while providing a venue for groups and organizations to inform the community of their services.

Surrey Fest Downtown has continued to grow through the efforts of a small group of volunteers representing residents, businesses, city employees and non-profit groups.

In 2025, we will mark the 25th anniversary of the festival. After having to cancel the festival in 2020 and again in 2021 due to Covid 19, we are thrilled to be able to once again hold Surrey Fest in Downtown Surrey.

There is always something new or different for pre-schoolers, children, youth, adults and seniors at the festival. As many as 4,000 people visit the festival each year to view the exhibits and enjoy food and live entertainment.

What to expect

At Surrey Fest Downtown there are usually a small number of food and market vendor stalls, community organization informational booths, a silent auction and live entertainment.

In total, over four dozen businesses and other local groups usually participate and have a presence at the event. They represent everything from credit unions, church groups, artists and non-profit organizations like Girl Guides and Crime Stoppers.

Surrey fest kid’s zone

In addition to the above and other live entertainment, each year there is also a Kid’s Zone at the festival, which includes, games, face painting and a craft station for children.

There is also often free icecream, popcorn, candy floss and other treats.
